Music History is requisite for all 7th grade students. The course covers music and composers from ancient Greece up to today. Students study the music and lives of composers such as Palestrina, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky. Additionally, they present their work on various composers and topics throughout the school year.

Beginner Band is open to all students from 5th grade through 8th grade. It meets starting in the second quarter at 7:15 on Wednesdays and Fridays. Students are taught to read basic music and play their chosen instrument. Instruments used in the beginner band include Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Baritone, and Trombone. Percussion study is allowed on a limited basis. The group performs for the Winter Concert and the Spring Concert.

Junior High Band is open to all students who previously have band experience. The group meets on Blue days during Guided Study. Students are encouraged to audition for the Region Band Festival which takes place on a Saturday in the Fall. The group presents two concerts each year with the other Aristoi Bands.

Concert Band and Intro to Band are for 9th through 12th grade students and meet on Gold Days. The groups combine forces for all performances and field trips. The ensembles perform music from the Renaissance up to modern repertoire. Band students are encouraged to audition for Region Jazz Band and Region Concert Band in the Fall. Those who place in the top ten percent of Region can audition for All-State at the Area Auditions in January. If a student makes All-State then they attend and perform at the TMEA Convention in San Antonio in February. All Aristoi ensembles perform two concerts each year as well as for other events.
