Coach Heiliger is a long-time resident of Katy, growing up and attending KISD schools from kindergarten through high school. She obtained her BS in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University and later received her teaching degree through the Region IV Alternative Certification Program. She then went on to teach and coach at Mayde Creek and Taylor High School. After staying home with her own 5 children, she began teaching and coaching volleyball at Aristoi in 2016. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her children in their many activities.

Dr. Stepp joins the faculty at Aristoi following a two-year appointment at Cornell University where he taught medieval literature, speculative fiction, composition, Spanish language, and English as a Second Language. He holds a BS degree in Physics/Astronomy and an MA in Comparative Literature from Brigham Young University, an MA in Medieval Icelandic Studies from Háskoli Íslands (The University of Iceland), and MA and Ph.D. degrees in Medieval Studies from Cornell University. He is, by training, a specialist in Medieval Icelandic and Insular literature and linguistics, with a particular emphasis on Icelandic mythological poetry and the Icelandic legendary sagas.

He joined Aristoi in 2018 as a Humane Letters I and Rhetoric I teacher, and has taught Humane Letters I, Rhetoric I, AP Statistics, and Humane Letters III in pervious years. He currently serves as the chair of the science department where he teaches AP Physics 1, AP Physics C, and Principles of Astronomy. He is also the head coach of the men's varsity soccer team and the upcoming men's varsity volleyball team. He also serves as the assistant coach for the women's varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams.

Shannon Laich grew up in Katy and returned after attaining her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2003. She has been married for 19 years to her college sweetheart and has 5 beautiful children; a Senior and sophomore at Paetow High School and an 8th, 2nd, and Kindergarten student at Aristoi. Over the past 18 years, she has coached Pre-school, Elementary, and Junior High PE. She also taught Junior High Art for 4 years and this will be her 3rd year teaching High School Art here at Aristoi. For the past 2 years, she has loved coaching the Aristoi Cross Country team and this year is excited to be coaching the High School JV Volleyball team. When she is not teaching and coaching her children and family are her world! She is always busy attending plays, driving kids to practices, caravanning friends, etc. As a family, they are also very involved in leadership roles at The Waters Church and have been for many years.
