Bio

Karla Rendon joined the faculty of Aristoi Classical Academy in 2023 as a 5th Math/Science teacher.

She was born and raised in Mexico City where she graduated with a BSc. Chemistry, Biology and Pharmacy from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). As part of her undergraduate thesis, she performed groundbreaking research at the National Institute of Cardiology, and she published the results of her work regarding the effects of Rosiglitazone on HDL structure.

After graduating college, Ms. Rendon applied to the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at Ohio State University, and she moved to Columbus, Ohio in the Fall of 2007. Interacting with children at her church, however, she discovered that teaching young minds was her true vocation, and she began looking for opportunities to teach. She taught Spanish K-8 and was a substitute teacher in Ohio before moving to Houston, Texas in 2010. She also lived in India for two years before finally settling in Cypress in 2015.

After working as a substitute teacher for CyFair-ISD in 2018, Ms. Rendon discovered a Grammar/Writing curriculum that would make her fall in love with Classical Education, and she decided to home-educate her children. For the next four years her love for the classics would grow, and she was so fascinated by History that she named her youngest son after a Roman Emperor.

She knew she had to be a part of Aristoi Classical Academy, and is fully committed to the Vision, Mission and Philosophy of ACA. She could not be more proud that her children will be with her at Aristoi Cypress and cannot wait for the time when her youngest becomes a Griffin!

Ms. Rendon is active in her church and enjoys baking. If she is not planning lessons and Science experiments, she is reading Theology books and swimming laps at the pool. Most of all, she enjoys watching her children grow and mature into who they were created to be.
