Ashley Soden Bio
Ashley Soden is a writer, booklover and native Houstonian. She is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University where she studied Public Relations. Soden has always excelled in creative writing, literary analysis, essay writing and English-- all passions of hers. She is working on her first novel manuscript which explores neurodivergence, art, creativity and family life as a low-residency M.F.A. candidate of Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
Soden has taught writing workshops for over three years for students and adults, at universities and K-12 schools. She has also taught through the organization she founded: Write/Create,Inc. The Chosen by Chaim Potok is one of her favorite books and Langston Hughes, a favorite poet. While every book is not a favorite, Soden's goal is for every student to learn how to engage each text as a detective, searching out the clues the author has placed to discover intended meaning. Nothing boring about it!
