A little about me: My name is Rebekah Herty and I was born and raised in South Carolina. I attended the University of South Carolina Beaufort where I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. While attending the University, I was President of the Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society and also President of the Phi Sigma Gamma Chi Biological National Honor Society. I was a collegiate athlete for USCB, where I played softball and ran cross country. I also tutored calculus I and II, statistics, genetics, and microbiology. In addition, I conducted my own research, "The Spatial and Temporal variability of Phytoplankton Production within a High Salinity Estuary", which I received first place at the University Research Day.
After graduating, I moved to Texas and conducted research on patients with Strokes at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. After completing my research I worked for a private lab as a Chemist and Microbiologist. Years later I decided I wanted to serve our Country and joined the United States Air Force as an Aerospace Medic.
I am now back to Katy, Texas and excited to be apart of Aristoi Classical Academy.
