Concert Ensemble (Period 4)
Dear Students and Families,
We are most excited to be able to offer band to your high school student as a course elective. The benefits of this opportunity are innumerable! Your student will have band 2 or 3 times per week and will have high expectations of conduct and progress. Our class size will be small and so our ratio of student/teacher/time will be quite ideal.
A prerequisite for this course is Band I. Students may bypass Band I if they achieved equivalent Band I skills either in Aristoi's middle school band program or at another school and demonstrate proficiency skills through an audition process. While students in class this year will continue to receive more individual training on their instrument, there will be a shift in focus of the instruction to playing together as an ensemble.
As an extra added bonus this year, your Aristoi administration has recognized the benefits of adding more personnel to the band program this year. Mrs. Stone has come on board to complement the teaching of Mrs. Peterson. Mrs. Stone comes to us as a certified music educator with a master’s in trumpet performance. Against Mrs. Peterson’s specialization as a clarinetist, and the fact that they both play percussion in the Lone Star Symphonic Band, this makes for an ideal team for our band program.
If you have any questions about this course, please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. We are looking forward to seeing how far we can grow as instrumental musicians this year!
