In my class the students are responsible for self-maintenance and self-discipline through three major concepts that I call my ABC's. By allowing students to monitor their own behavior I hope to help them develop themselves socially, intellectually, and mentally.

- Attitude: Students should come into my class with a good attitude. Our attitudes help set the tone for the learning environment and lend to   our experience within the school itself.

- Behavior: Students are expected to display behavior in accordance with the school's guidelines. They should also display behavior that is reflective of a maturing learner who is preparing to enter Middle School. This is, perhaps, the most challenging concept for students but it is also the most rewarding once they learn how to conquer it!

- Character: Webster's Dictionary defines character as, "Moral excellence and firmness". My students know character as what they do when I am not looking. Throughout the school year they will have opportunities to develop their character in the classroom and in the school setting
